Jin Shan
Short BioJin Shan is an artist, he works in different media to reflect the daily life of young people in contemporary China. Last year, when he presented his first interactive installation Slide, he began using games and audience participation as a critical part of his work. For the piece Slide, he turned the gallery stairs into a slide so that the audience had to take the plunge if they wanted to see the rest of the show. The artist turned a symbol of childhood into a game without age limits and almost enforced participation. On the slide, images presented the artist's memory of public events, moments that are deeply ingrained into collective memory. Speed becomes a metaphor for urban life.
