All buildings have roof gardens so that people can grow some food for themselves as well as place to sit and relax. There are also with solar panels sited in the roof areas.When we did our research into Hemsworth we found out that not a lot happened in Hemsworth at night. We decided to design buildings which combined residential housing with café and gym facilities. The curved building has a café inside it with an open balcony area upstairs for dining “out” whenever possible. It also has small scale workshop / retail units inside so that small scale suppliers in the area have an outlet for their goods.
