THE THIRD EYE exhibition’s second location is Beam Gallery in the Orangery in Wakefield, with a live link to Zollverein.
THE THIRD EYE @ Beam
November 13 – December 12, 2010 Mondays-Fridays, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. local time Main feature for visitors of the THIRD EYE exhibition is the interactive exploration of a scale model ideal city of the future, using remote controlled video robots to take a stroll through the landscape. The visitors can steer the robots using a body controlled step pad.
Next to the live exhibition in Essen a virtual exhibition will be realized in Wakefield (GB). This virtual exhibition is connected to the live version in Essen at Zollverein World Heritage Site. People who visit either of the venues can communicate with each other in the Telepresence Café, using cutting edge telepresence technologies like the web booth and also steer one of the video robots using a step pad that links into the exhibition in Essen.
Invited by our co-operation partner Wakefield Council, the gallery Beam is facilitating the event. Beam is a company dedicated to the imaginative understanding and improvement of the public realm – our urban and rural streets, buildings, parks, housing estates and public spaces. |
