The WorkshopsIn Shanghai the architect Shuo Wang lead a workshop with a group of ShiXi High School students. He also organized the professionals of the Shanghai team, the architect Qing Wang, the artist Shan Jin and a group of academic students and conducted the four team meetings. In the team meetings the participants also met the Rotterdam team over skype to work together. Shuo was supported by his assistent Li Ye and Doris Yuan from Shanghai eARTS. 3rd i lead artist Graham Smith visited the High School workshop and the first team meeting at ShiXi in mid May 2010.

Workshop leader
Shuo Wang is an architect and researcher based in Beijing, China. He studied at Tsinghua University and received a master’s degree in Architecture at Rice University. He has practiced extensively in New York, Rotterdam and Beijing in the field of architecture and urbanism research.
One of his main interests of research has been the intensifying urban dynamics in contemporary metropolis in China and the new form of collective space that emerges. He has worked on various publication projects that have recently been published in URBAN CHINA, BLUEPRINT ASIA and BURB.TV, and is actively extending the concept into different media, including writing, a website, and art installations.
Couscous Global video documentariesDuring the 3rd i workshops, Couscous Global filmed the maquette building process, the different workshops the participants followed and they interviewed them and their ideas on the city. Check their movies out here.
