Workshop leader
Maarten Rens
Maarten Rens studied architecture in the 60s and documentary making in early 70s. He has been making social documentaries in Africa, the Middle East and other places since then.
'This project reminds me of a multimedia show I made for the Booymans van Beuningen museum on "het Nieuwe Bouwen" in Rotterdam in 1978. The story spanned the building practice from 1920 till 1960 in Rotterdam.
This was also the era in which project scale exploded and city planners and architects alienated themselves from the people that would eventually live in it. This projects reminds me of that'.
Couscous Global video documentariesDuring the 3rd i workshops Couscous Global filmed the participants, interviewed them and followed the
maquette making. Here you can have a look at their documentaries.
